Published by Leykam in 2026, it looks at anger, bullying, online hate, violence and war, but above all at the choices that make peace possible. Frieden ist leiser. Er zeigt sich oft in kleinen Momenten \u2013 wenn jemand zuh\u00f6rt, eine Eskalation unterbricht oder sich entscheidet, etwas Zerbrochenes wieder zusammenzuf\u00fcgen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Frieden ist schwieriger zu zeichnen als Krieg.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die Illustrationen sollten junge Leser_innen ernst nehmen, ohne sie zu \u00fcberw\u00e4ltigen. Die Bilder sollten Konflikten nicht ausweichen, Gewalt aber nie zum Spektakel machen oder heroisch erscheinen lassen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Metaphor_instead_of_spectacle\"><\/span>Metaphern statt Spektakel<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Statt jeden Konflikt w\u00f6rtlich zu illustrieren, arbeitete ich mit visuellen Metaphern: zwei Menschen, die \u00fcber einen Abgrund hinweg aufeinander zugehen, H\u00e4nde, die eine zerbrochene Landschaft zusammensetzen, oder ein Kind vor der dunklen Last des Krieges. Runde Displayschrift, einfache Figurenformen und eine gedruckte Textur halten die Seiten zug\u00e4nglich, w\u00e4hrend dunkle Silhouetten und gebrochene Formen die schwierigeren Inhalte tragen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die Bilder wiederholen Omars Text nicht einfach. Sie schaffen einen weiteren Zugang. Ein Bild kann ein schwieriges Gespr\u00e4ch er\u00f6ffnen, bevor junge Leser_innen die richtigen Worte daf\u00fcr gefunden haben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Peace_as_something_people_do\"><\/span>Frieden als etwas, das wir tun<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eine Doppelseite erz\u00e4hlt eine Geschichte aus dem Garten eines Gro\u00dfvaters. Ein einzelner Zweig bricht leicht, ein zusammengebundenes B\u00fcndel nicht. Die Illustration macht Zusammenhalt zu einer k\u00f6rperlichen Handlung, die Kinder unmittelbar verstehen k\u00f6nnen. Frieden ist im ganzen Buch nicht passiv.
