I draw characters that help stories and ideas find an audience.
I’m Amir Abou Roumie, an illustrator based in Vienna. I work with publishers, museums, public institutions, agencies and selected brands on projects for children, families and curious adults.
My illustrations combine character-driven storytelling, dry humour and a retro influence. The style matters, but so does the job: making a technical subject approachable, giving a publication its own voice or building a visual world that works across several formats.
What I bring to a project
Story and character
I develop characters, scenes and visual systems that can carry a story rather than merely decorate it.
Clarity
I translate educational, scientific and institutional subjects into images people want to enter and understand.
Production experience
I prepare artwork for real formats: books, posters, stickers, exhibitions, campaigns and digital applications.
Working together
We begin with the audience, the message and the practical constraints. I share sketches before moving into final artwork, build feedback into clear stages and agree on deliverables, timing and usage rights in advance.
